Reflections in D My transcription of the Duke Ellington' s composition recorded piano solo by Bill Evans for the album "New Conversations" (1978) is played here by my friend the pianist Eric Ferrand N' Kaoua who shows us with great talent what is possible to get from my score.
I Loves You Porgy Eric Ferrand N' Kaoua plays an excerpt of my transcription of the beautiful song by G. Gershwin, a favorite of Bill Evans, that he used to play- wonderfully - piano solo. The transcribed version is from the live recording "At The Montreux Jazz Festival" (June 15, 1968), the famous concert given by the Bill Evans trio with Eddie Gomez and Jack DeJohnette.
Young and Foolish I recorded this version with Bill Evans's chord changes.
Sareen Jurer Dorian Ford-piano, Geoff Gascoyne-bass, Patrick Levett-dms Recorded live at the Ship Theatre Sevenoaks, Kent UK May 4 2009. Dorian's nice rendition of this Earl Zindars's composition drew its inspiration from my transcription of the Bill Evans version ("Since We Met").
A Time For Love A piano solo by american pianist David Thompson from his CD "Introspect" for which he recorded piano solo nine standards from the Bill Evans's repertoire. Dave was evidently inspired by Bill's superb version from his album "Alone". My transcription of this Johnny Mandel's tune has been published in "The Artistry of Bill Evans".
Darn That Dream I used Bill Evans's chord changes from his recording with Jim Hall "Undercurrent".
My reading of the lead sheets of two waltzes never recorded by Bill and printed for the first time in my "Bill Evans fake book":
Carnival
Waltz in Eb
Spartacus Love Theme: The intro and chord changes are from the Bill Evans recording with Jeremy Staig. |
